"It's funny, because when I told my extended family and friends about getting into UCLA, they all assumed that it's totally definite that I'm going. My grandma said "Just send in your SIR right now!" I was surprised. I guess people, at least in my area, assume that getting into UCLA is the pinnacle of an educational opportunity and one I should definitely accept."

I had the same thing happen when I was senior this was despite that the fact I also told them I had also been accepted to MIT(alot of people didnt know the M is for Massachusetts), UCB,HMC.

I've heard a lot of students say "I want to go to UC San Francisco", thinking that it's an undergraduate school like the others. I guess it's an honest mistake to make if you don't know much about the UC system.

nope, surprise surprise. it's in la! but even if it's not in boston, you should still go there so you can hang out with me and the rest of cc's ucla kids. =]

i used to work at a department store and i sold some lady something and she was talking about her daughter going to harvard, and she asked me where i go for college and i said "UCLA" and she said "where's that?"

I'm waiting for Cal right now, but even if I weren't accepted to Cal, I'm still indecisive between UCLA, UCSD, and.. UC Davis. Yeah, UCD seems really out of place in that bunch, but it has always been on my "list" for a while for some reason. Anyway, I have no idea what the chance of me actually choosing UCLA will be..

It's funny, now that we're (well the rest of the transfer students here) about a month away from finding out if we're in, I find myself looking at other schools. I've worked like crazy for the last two years so I could go to UCLA, and now that I'm so close I'm looking at other school... I'm still sure that UCLA is going to be where I decide to go if I get in, I think more then anything this is just me being nurvous about actually getting in...

A lot of people I notice are waiting on Cal... I'm one of the few who really does not care about Cal, I'd pick UCLA over them by a longshot.

im from seattle, and when i first visited ucla's campus 2 summers ago, i absolutely fell in LOVE with it...ucla was my dream school for a long time until my counselors and basically everyone else told me i wasnt gettin in... so i made usc my dream school lol, and now that i got into both, im pretty torn... (money factor is huge, esp since i dont get th perks of being instate:()

I'm actually excited, I'm going tomorrow for my first real tour of UCLA. I've been to the law school before, and seen a bit of the campus, however never really been around any of the rest of the school. Considering that I live 45 minutes away and I've been planning for the past two years to go there, one would think I'd have gone down to see the school already.
