Sorry Margaret (can I call you Maggie or something?), if this isn't really relevant to your post. I'd introduce myself, but I feel unsure of any decisions yet, and I don't want to be the pseudo-Wellesley girl.

Whoops, forgot attitude
Attitude: Really really nervous and excited as all of you
I don't know. I visited Wellesley this weekend and it seemed just sooo preppy, which irked me some. Oh well. Love it otherwise~

el padrino--

The preppiness irks me too (even though I'm finishing up my first year). Too many girls with giant Louis Vuitton bags and cashmere sweaters and Burberry scarves and Polo-shirts-color-coordinated-with-moccasins.

What even irks me more is that there are other schools even more preppy than Wellesley. I hope to never set foot on those campuses.

The preppy factor was D's only gut-level turn-off about Wellesley per se.

The poster named Mini has some stats that show how much more of Wellesley's population can afford a full-ride, indicating a wealthy family background. It's significantly upscale. Some will like that, some won't.

Yeah seriously. You all should've seen the expression on my face when my classmates asked me if the girls at my high school all wore Tiffany's jewelery.

At first I was a bit shocked at the prep level. But I've come to tolerate it. Somewhat. The students are still smart and engaging, and I guess that's all that counts.

As long as the students are "smart and engaging". That IS what matters ultimately anyhow. Hahaha, I just hope I won't end up conforming to the preppiness!

i'm definitely going if i get the financial aid that i asked for. i haven't gotten it yet, i guess it happens when you live in Bolivia grrr..anyway i love doing these things :) so here it goes...

*what do you guys plan on majoring in?

i dont know what to major in! i cant seem to get used to picking 4 classes since thats 4 subjects and i know whichever subject i dont pick i will miss. i cant imagine a year without english, or math, or science, or history, but i also want to take latin, or philosophy, or other interesting stuff they didnt have in hs.

Economics w/ either history, philosophy, or Int'l Relations. Or maybe a different combo with any of those four. Anybody else?

Classics, probably. English, maybe....

Something in the humanities, but definitely not history.

I definetly want to study political science and but i don't know with what, i'm thinking economics or history or int'l. relation, economics is winning though..

Cool Claringa! We've almost got exactly the same interest in majors, 3 for 4. :-)

I'm going for sure now!!!!!!!!!!! and so is my twin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
