I am a junior in high school and this year, I will likely get a few A minuses. An A- at my school (92-93) is considered a 4.0, but I am worried that colleges will recalculate my GPA and end up hurting my application. At most schools where an A- is a 3.7, an A- is a 90-92. I could not find anything on the internet that answered my question. Can someone please help me understand if colleges will look at my application any differently if I have all a minuses or all a pluses as long as each grade counts as a 4.0?
I don’t think they recalculate it to a different number…some schools including mine doesn’t even do A-
They’ll be paying most attention to your class rank rather than the specific GPA number. Some may recalculate grades and colleges will see the specific letters printed on your transcript.
