Deleted SAT Subject scores from UC application after applying.

Hi, I am a high school student from Canada and have applied to UCLA, UCD, UCI, and UCSD. I want to major in Aerospace Engineering. I have a 4.0 GPA and quite a bit of volunteering and leadership activities, play on the varsity basketball team, and have done many aerospace/physics/academics related extracurriculars/projects/summer program.

Okay, here's the deal: On my application, I reported my SAT Subject Test Scores, which were terrible (Math II - 680, Chemistry - 660, Physics - 650) but I also wrote that I am retaking these tests on Dec. 7, expecting that I would do better. However, I am taking the tests tomorrow and think that I am not even close to ready for these tests - the scores will likely be about the same. So I decided that I won't send SAT Subject score reports at all since the UC doesn't require Subject tests - only SAT or ACT. So I logged into my application and saw that there was an option to "Update SAT Subject Tests" and I clicked on it and it allowed me to delete the scores I had entered, so I did (I didn't touch my ACT scores). My question is, will UC see the deleted scores anyways or see that I have made changes to them?

I have self-reported and already sent my ACT Score Report to UCLA (I got 32C: 34E 32M 27R 34S 8W, which I understand is a decent score) but haven't sent any SAT I or II reports (My SAT I score was bad - 1840 - I didn't study for it). Even if they do see the deleted scores, does it matter if I don't send the official score report? And finally, is my decision to not show my SAT Subject Tests good? (Also, I will be writing AP Calculus AB and AP Chemistry exams in May.)

I have applied to MIT too and I think my SAT Subject Tests are going to be a very weak point in that application because they require Subject Tests. Otherwise, I haven't self-reported my SAT Subject scores to any other university, because they only recommend it, don't require it.

Thanks for your help.

I don’t think it will make a difference in your application. Only students who did well on the SAT subject tests will send them to help their application. If you don’t send them, it won’t hurt or help. It doesn’t matter if you send in your SAT I score because they look at the highest one, which is your ACT.

Ok, but what about the scores I have already reported? Will they still see them or see that I deleted them? Will this hurt me? Thanks.

Whether the deleted part can be seen or not will depend on how UC application software works. However since the apps are not reviewed yet, I would think only the latest new ones will be seen. The scores you already reported should not hurt.

Even if they do see that you deleted them, it won’t make a difference. They won’t take it into consideration since you showed you didn’t want to include them in your application.
