If I delete an ACT score, is there any possible way for colleges to see that I have taken an extra ACT or see the score I deleted? I just took an ACT yesterday, and I want to cancel it if it is possible for colleges to see the number of acts you have taken or the scores you deleted.
If you cancel before the score comes out you should be fine.
But I want to find out the score first, so if I can find out the score and then delete it if it’s bad and have it be the same as if I canceled the score, I’d much rather do that.
It depends on your high school. Scores when released are sent both to you and your high school. Though you can cancel a score after release through the ACT (be aware it is not a simple or quick process), that will not automatically remove your high school’s record of the score. There are many high schools that put all your scores on the offical high school transcript sent to colleges. Thus, you could have a risk that your high school could provide colleges with the cancelled score unless you can get it to remove your score from its records.
If you listed colleges on your four free scores slots they will have the scores.
My school does not put test scores on transcripts, thanks for your help.
If your school doesn’t list scores on your transcript, there’s not much point in deleting your score. This is because colleges have no way of knowing the number of times you’ve taken the ACT and your scores if you don’t send them. You could take the ACT six times, only send one score, and the college would have no way of knowing that you’ve taken it other times as well. Some colleges demand to see all ACT scores, but there’s literally no way for them to enforce that rule. You could just send your best score and the college would know nothing more.
