Hey Guys,
I couldn't find a direct answer for this question so I thought I'd quickly ask. Like many others, I was waitlisted at WUSTL. I have a competitive resume as I'm sure many other at CC here do but WUSTL is my DREAM SCHOOL so I thought I'd ask. How can I demonstrate interest or improve my chances of getting off the waitlist? Would visiting and setting up an interview with an admissions officer help? I don't have anything extraordinary that I achieved in my senior year but should I still send a letter neway?? Any and all opinions and advice are appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I hate to say this, but getting off the waitlist is not all about chances. Best way here is for you to write a 1-2 page letter, explaining WHY WashU is your dream school, and HOW you will further WashU. Remember though, it has to be like another essay. Right sincerely and thoughtfully - not cliche driven.

It greatly depends on what you want to study at WashU, but also for the next few weeks try to do something that recognizes your abilities: awards/research.

I hope you hear good news from WashU in the coming weeks. Good luck.
