On ApplyTexas, I was given the option of picking my first choice and second major. For my first major, I chose Radio/TV/Film and the second was Computer Science. Then I requested a major change to CompSci being first and RTF being second. After seeing how competitive the CS program actually was, I realized that my stats were not high enough to be accepted.
If I am denied from my first major, can I still be accepted into my second?
Is my application in review for both majors or should I request another major change?
Honestly, I'm happy with the possibility of being an RTF major but I guess I'm still waiting to hear back.

Also, I have accepted my offer of admission to UT but my application is still in review ^^ and I probably won't hear back until Early January.
Thanks!

Yes. That is the point of having a second choice major.

At UT, there are so many different majors and some students will switch their major many times while at UT. Some majors are significantly harder to transfer to than others. You could possibly get accepted into UT and later transfer to the choice that you didn’t get. If you don’t get your first choice, you are considered for your second choice. If you are an automatic admit, you could possibly not get either choice but admitted to UT in the undergraduate studies department (undeclared). I don’t know for sure whether or not those who are not automatic admit have the ability to be admitted to UT without getting either of their choices and just placed in undergraduate studies but that was not your question. Best of luck.
