hey guys, i'm looking for a dental insurance. right now, i buy my health insurance through school but not dental. and i want to buy one since i have my wisdom teeth. do you guys have your dental plans? if so, can you tell me which one it is?

The National Association of Dental Plans lets you search dental plans by state: [Dental Plan Directory](http://nadp.org/page.asp~lngSectionId~147&lngPageId~41)

I found it cheaper to fly home to get dental care since I can get it there for free. Even with dental insurance in the US, you might have to pay several hundred dollars for a procedure because most dental insurances will only give you a discount. Also watch out for a pre-existing conditions clause. Since you already have your wisdom teeth, the insurance may not pay for their removal at all, or you might have to wait for 12 months or so before they pay.

I also noticed that many dental plans will not pay for “extractions solely for the purpose of orthodontics.” This clause would apply to wisdom teeth as well.
