Denying admission... absolutely necessary?

Well I've pretty much made my final decision as to where I'll be going to school next year. However, I have 7 other acceptances which I must now turn down. Is it absolutely vital that I notify these other colleges that I will not be attending?

Also, if I can't find a link or anything on their website to deny admission, how should I go about doing this? Email?

Should I just not do anything at all?

What are the colleges that you are turning down? Someone may have info on how you should handle this, but you need to name the colleges. Different colleges have different procedures.

No, it’s not “absolutely necessary”, but it is the right thing to do. They put alot of time into reviewing, discussing and approving your application; it’s common courtesy to let them know of your decision, and thank them for their time. It will only take a minute.

An email to the Admissions Department or Director of Admissions should get your message to the right place.
