Current community college transfer applicant here. Recently accepted to UCLA, UCSD, UC Berkeley.
Top Choice is USC which I’m still waiting for. USC is my top choice because a parent works there so acceptance would mean free tuition.
My issue is that UCLA wants their SIR by June 1st but USC won’t release decisions until May 31st. I tend to overprepare so I’m wondering how I should go about this. I’m fairly certain I’ll be accepted but USC is known to lag it with acceptance. If I SIR to UCLA can I decline my admission after the June 1st date so that I can go to USC instead?
Any insight helps. Thank you so much!
If it helps at all my major is Neuroscience for all campuses. GPA: 3.9 STEM GPA: 4.0

yes. but you’d better be REALLY sure about the free tuition. most private colleges offer 1/2 tuition discounts for children of employees, NOT free tuition.

Im referring to this
I think that it would be worth your while to contact UCLA and ask if you can have a one week extension.
Since this happens frequently with Transfer students, as the response from schools can be staggered, this will be something that they have dealt with before.
The worst they can say is no, right?
If they say yes, you’ll have a bit a breathing room before committing.
If you accept your offer at UCLA prior to the USC decision,
you can still back out but you will lose your deposit, which if I remember correctly is $250.00.
