Departmental Scholarships?

Does anyone know if Clemson has other scholarship opportunities, in addition to the Academic Recruiting scholarship? My student received $15k already and we are out of state. However, U of South Carolina and others have offered more at this point, it will be hard to turn those down, even though Clemson is higher ranked. I checked the Clemson site and don’t see any mention. If anyone has any information, it is much appreciated. Already applied to Calhoun. Thanks and good luck!

I believe all of their scholarships are listed on the website. To my knowledge, they typically do not offer any others. USC tends to offer more money to attract top students like yours. Calhoun Honors has an additional fee of $1000 per year as well, so you may want to keep that in mind.

My son was accepted with $7,500/yr scholarship. The scholarship was specific to the school of Engineering.

Question: what if he changes his mind and wants to pursue a degree in Business. Is the $7,500 still offered? That will be weighed into his decision.

Are you OOS ? I believe your son was offered a “recruiting” scholarship. Clemson offers (3) recruiting scholarships for out of state students : $7500 / $10000 / $ 15000 - based on your SAT scores. My son was accepted to the school of engineering but his scholarship is a $15000 recruiting one. You need to maintain a 3.0 to receive this each year. Yes - The Calhoun Honors has an additional $1000 per year fee and if you want to live in the Honors Dorm (Core C/D) - there is an increase in cost as well - could be $3000 + more a year. My son was accepted into the Honors program. Still deciding if he wants to live there or not. It is an amazing dorm

Core is worth the money the location, facilities and views are amazing my daughter is there this year.
