Depaul University or Elmhurst College?

Hello everybody. I recently got accepted as a transfer student to Depaul and Elmhurst College here in Illinois. BUT, I am not sure which one to attend. My major is Finance. Elmhurst College is only about 10 mins away from me, while Depaul is about 30 mins, but thats not that bad of a commute. I know both are very good colleges around the area, but I just wanted to get some opinions on which one should I attend.

Thanks

DePaul

AACSB-accredited
Name cache (in region)
Recruitment (mainly due to incredible location)

As for your commute, I think your 30 minute estimate to DePaul's loop campus might be off. You'll spend just that trying to find parking.

Unless you have a compelling reason to choose Elmhurst (e.g. significant scholarship), Depaul would serve you better academically and professionally. Most people don't consider DePaul and Elmhurst to be on the same level.

For business, DePaul's better. Great location (and great recruitment) and a recognizable name.

But Elmhurst is ranked 13th in the top Midwest Master's Universities along with Bradley, Xavier, Valporaiso and Truman State. Whereas DePaul is merely a Tier 3 National University with Illinois State, Cincinnati, Ball State, and UMKC.
Very comparable university-wide.

Thank you for the help. I am now leaning towards Depaul, but I also had Loyola University in mind too, however I did not apply there. Would Depaul and Loyola be considered on the same level for business?

Yes, the same companies that attended Loyola's career fair were at DePaul's. Although DePaul carries slightly more name cache with the general public due to its incredible location and Big East membership.

I went to Loyola last year and chose it over DePaul among other schools. Mainly it was the quality of peers (Loyola attracts better students) and neighborhood (DePaul is a postage stamp in yuppieland, Loyola dominates a low-income district.) But there's very little difference otherwise. If you end up in DePaul, you'll likely end up meeting Loyola folks at job interviews, networking, speaker events, etc.

Elmhurst College offered me an $8000 scholarship, whereas DePaul did not offer me anything. Now I am currently confused on where I want to attend. Any recommendations?
