Depression+Senioritis?

Is anyone else going through either of these or both?
I'm just a little depressed and already have senioritis..
I've been drifting away from my friends and I don't hang out with anyone anymore
I don't even care about homework already, and I just got a C- on my first ap gov test even though it was supposed to be the easiest one.
how the hell am i supposed to survive the rest of this year?
anyone in the same boat or have any advice?
thanks

I’ve had somewhat of a difficult time maintaining friendships after I opted to switch to an online school. It’s something that I’ve tried to adjust to though.

I think that it might be beneficial for you to pursue some of your interests by joining clubs. That way, you’ll be enabled to expose yourself to others who are intrigued by similar activities. Sometimes people just naturally grow apart during high school. Joining clubs will provide you with an opportunity to “restart” and possibly formulate new friends.

If your depression is serious though, I recommend seeing your counselor or a psychologist.

Why were you drifting away from your old friends?

wartsandall–I’m already in a bunch of clubs. And I don’t think it’s really depression, just random bouts of sadness. Thanks though

seahawks–I’m drifting away because to be honest, they’re kind of shallow and don’t care about much besides school. I just can’t relate to them anymore–they’re overachievers. It’s not a very deep relationship anymore; I feel like I’ve matured and they haven’t

I know the feeling, for me just try to keep busy so it never really hits you. As for your friends, if you can’t find anyone else it might be better to just hang out with them for the sake of not being alone. you know?

Yeah I just spend too much time wasting away on the internet instead of keeping busy lol, but it’s a habit. And yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing sorta…we’ll see how that goes for the rest of the year

I am very depressed and hopeless. Not just you.

Same boat bro. I’ve lost all motivation in school.

I’m not even back to school, but I can already feel the depression and senioritis coming on. Seriously, though. You’re definitely not alone. Just try to keep busy and remember this is your last year; you’ll be onto bigger and better things soon.

I guess we’re all in the same boat, cause I feel the same way.

Mom here. I think what you are feeling is normal, afterall you are facing major life-changing decisions in the coming months. It is normal to feel anxious, nervous and a little depressed. As far as friendships go, senior year usually either cements friendships or they fall off. It is part of growing up.

Change is hard for everyone, more so for some. Try to maintain your focus on your schoolwork, it is a means to an end and now is not the time to drop the ball. Talk to someone if your feelings become overwhelming, your guidance counselor, school nurse or a trusted teacher if you are not comfortable talking to your parents. Remember also, your relationship with your parents is changing too. There will be some bumps in the road as you navigate this next year. Be patient and kind, to yourself and others around you. This too shall pass.

We’ve been seeing quite a lot of moms here lately :D

Another mom here. Just do ya thang girl.

How is that going to help the senioritis?

Don’t worry about it

LOL
