i just got rejected to a school i really thought Id get into...
UCLA. It's not even ranked better than UofM! I guess it's easier for me 2 get into uofMichigan because I live in state but still!
Now I feel like there is no hope of me getting into Stanford... how could I get accepted to a school better than ucla if i got rejected from there..sigh

don’t fret, my friend got into MIT early and got rejected from UCLA. it happens. I tend to believe that Stanford has a more holistic approach to admissions so try to stay positive. I got into UofM OOS and rejected from UCLA instate so we’re kind of opposites but I’m not really too worried.

thanks, that does make me feel better i guess ive just got to keep my hopes up until april 1

D was rejected from UCLA, got into Berkeley and is a freshman at Stanford. Don’t give up hope.

thanks… this post really brings my hopes back up

yea my dad just gave me a long motivational talk. He basically said that 'the school doesn’t make the people, the PEOPLE make the school." I’m going to be a great successful person no matter where I go to college and one day ucla will regret it! (i hope)

This is not college related but can be applied. My daughter was laid off two years ago from her job of five years. She knew her job didn’t have much potential but was comfortable. She was deeply hurt when they laid her off because she knew the family of the small company very well. She is now working at a place with better career advancement, benefits, etc. She said being laid off was the best thing to happen to her. We don’t always understand why things happen the way they do but they happen for a reason.
Good luck to all!
