This thread is for accepted and prospective students for the Design | Media Arts program at UCLA. Hopefully we can discuss what attracted us to the major, what we want to learn about the program, and I don’t know just talk in general. Congratulations on your acceptance!!
thanks for starting this! the program seems pretty small so it’s hard to find much information or even other accepted students. can’t wait for the arts open house and bruin day!
of course! that’s exactly how I feel, I heard that in past years the Dma program has been small as 55 students…
Same! I’ll definitely be in attendance
Congrats to us! See, I’m really excited for this program due to the innovative and unbounded way of approaching art. It has, however, slightly come to my attention to their lack of a good internship program. While their program may be very fun, I am slightly worried about how the things we will learn in this school will translate to getting a real job. nonetheless, I think I’m still going to end up going here
@stefaniets that was also one of my major concerns! To learn more about this I talked to a current student who actually said that internships are pretty accessible, it’s just something that you have to actively seek out. The student I talked to interned at awesome places like NBC, Disney and some major marketing firms so after hearing that I felt more comforted about that But that’s definitely going to be one of my questions at the Arts/Architecture open house!
hi I’m looking at UCLA design/media arts program and I was wondering how strict they are about SAT scores. Also did they mostly look at your portfolio? - thanks!
Same, got a few questions to ask!
