<p>ok im a freshman at the university of houston in texas who is a business/finance major. this was originally my safety school and i am here right now because i kinda screwed up my last semester in high school and it affected my acceptances. i want to transfer out and i have applied to university of washington and washington state university for fall 07. i have no idea what my hs gpa is because my hs doesnt give grades in gpa format. i am from a hs in hong kong but i applied as in australian citizen. my extra curriculars in hs include varsity basketball, varsity soccer, varsity badminton, varsity volleyball, amnesty international, and interact club. i did pretty bad in my first sem in university but my calculus mark jumped from a 43% in hs to a mid 70 last sem. will the "dramatic" improvement help me on my applications. also, because i only managed a 2.5 gpa last sem i didnt apply directly to the business school but only as an economics major. i was hoping that it would make my transfer easier and i was planning on transferring to the business school in my junior year. yesterday i just received my rejection letter from washington state university. assuming that wsu is "easier" to get in, is it right to assume that university of washington will also reject me since its harder to get in? i had two very good recs prepared but they didnt want recs because they wanted to "hear from me", not the professors. what are my chances to get into u washington?</p>
