Transfer Chances/Questions?

Hi all,

I'm currently a student at Purdue University and am considering WSU as a transfer student since things might not work out for me with my major. So, I have a few questions..

Is it too late to apply for the Fall Semester? If not, is the Hospitality Business Management program tough to get into?

What is the average GPA for a transfer? Currently, I hold a 2.22 GPA due to dumb decisions I made freshman year. Since then I've been raising my GPA..

Does WSU take into consideration the difficulty of other institutions like Purdue? Recently, it was considered one of the toughest colleges in regards to overall grades compared to other colleges in the nation.

I received a 3 on my AP US History exam in April/May 2008. However, since Purdue only accepts 4 or higher I didn't receive any credit. Would I be able to receive some credit at WSU since they accept a 3 or higher for US History?

Any recommendations for someone who is supposed to be a senior this fall and will turn 21 in terms of apartments/dorms and social life? Kind of sad but considering I need to make new friends and all, it makes me worried..

Thanks and I do know that I might not get accepted but might as well give it a shot?

Jim, your 2.22 is most likely too low to get into the WSU Business School right away, even if your last couple of semesters have been good. How were your Micro & Macro Econ grades? BCalc? Stats? Fin & Mgt Acc’t? Those are just some of the classes you need to have successfully completed to get in the the Business school.

Any Externships? Internships?

Maybe you need to either take a semester or two and either work in the hospitality field and/or take classes at your local CC and regroup.

Hang in there! It will work out for you.
