I mean, ECs alone are not really sufficient to give you schools and your GPA...is there any way you can possibly convert it to a 4.0 scale? Did you take the SAT or any SAT IIs? What kind of school do you want to attend: location, size, atmosphere, potential subjects or majors you want to take?

the first two year cannot be changed.

My SAT I is 2050. No SAT II yet. Should I aim higher for SAT I ?

I don't really care about size.

My intended major is Economics, double major Sociology

No one can help me ?

can you guys just drop a few lines for me ??

What part of the country are you looking to go to school in?

University of New Orleans will take you in because of your SAT score (with a nearly full ride). Check their website for details, and apply ASAP because admissions are on a rolling basis out there.

From quickly looking at the U New Orleans website it appears they won't be able to do much with financial aid. If you really need the finaid you're extremely limited, and it's pretty much just the 'reach' catagory that offers it.. places like the Ivies, Northwestern, UChicago, some of the LACS. Your SAT is a good score but to get into one of those places I think you'd have to work on your ECs a bit, get them a bit more concentrated and look like you're really involved with stuff, and write really amazing essays.

I meant these scholarships: Undergraduate Scholarships for Out-of-State Residents

Thanks for some first responds.

I don't look for any specific region yet but I prefer the most in New England area, MA, CT,.... or on the East Coast.

I would like suburban or urban the most but rural is ok.

THe most thing I care is academic, Financial aid.

So any suggestions for match, safety, and reach ? I mean specific

As an intl student asking for a full ride, you really can't afford to get too picky :). Just saying.

I know. I don't really care about any size, location,...

My top priority is Academic and Financial aid. We can contribute at max about $7000/year.

Any suggestions for schools ?

Why don't you try applying to some ivy leagues or top 20 schools?
(any of them)
I know Princeton gives out a lot of financial aid
Cornell is very diverse

I will try some top schools. I know it will be very tough since my profile is not that strong.

I am not gonna be able to apply to all top 20 and ivies schools. Thus, which one should I choose which best fit my need for FA and my intended major in Economics and/or Sociology ?

However, I still need some safe and match schools

There aren't really any match/safeties that give financial aid to international students.

So it means I have to apply to all reach schools ?

Pretty much. That's what I'm having to do as well. Your best safety is one in your home country. Just have to try and make your application REALLY good.

Among those reach schools, which ones are most realistic with me ?

Among those reach schools, which ones are most realistic with me ?

I don't know anything about which schools are best for what you want to study or chances of you getting in. From the information you've given already I think it's going to be a REAL reach to any of the top schools. Not that you should be discouraged from applying, of course, but I don't want to give you hope by saying "yeah I think you can get in here and here".
