DHS and PTA Notifications

I am not 100% sure I understand your question, but if I do, those that interview for but don’t receive the Stamps then get a full tuition award. I assume the DHS and not the PTA, but it doesn’t matter of course since the awards are identical in value. I cannot think of a logical scenario in which a Stamps finalist, who presumably are the best of the best of the best as pulled from the DHS pool, would not get a full tuition award if they are not one of the 5 selected to receive the Stamps, out of the 10 picked to interview. I suppose it could happen if they said something completely outrageous in the interview, or showed up obviously drunk or stoned, but how likely is that?

A potential delay?

Tulane University closes campuses in anticipation of severe weather

Tulane University is closing its campuses in New Orleans, St. Tammany Parish and Mississippi today (Feb. 23) at noon, in anticipation of extreme weather conditions expected later this afternoon and into the evening.
The National Weather Service and the university’s weather monitoring service are predicting 80 mph wind gusts, with 20-25 mph sustained winds starting around 1 p.m. There is also the threat of tornadic activity.
All classes are being canceled and students are requested to stay in their residence halls until the bad weather has passed and an all clear is issued by the university or Student Affairs. Students with questions about available services should contact their RAs and additional information will be provided shortly from Student Affairs.
Non-essential personnel should depart the campus by noon. Anyone unclear about their status as essential or non-essential should check with their supervisor.
The university expects to resume normal operations in the morning and employees should expect to report to work at their normal time, unless they are otherwise notified.
Please monitor emergency.tulane.edu for the most up-to-date information on campus conditions. Information is also available through the Tulane AlertLine at 504-862-8080 or 1-877-862-8080.

I got a notification from ups my choice for a package delivery from Tulane tomorrow!

Woo hoo!! Off to the races!! Great news. But sorry about the weather in NOLA.

I live in New Orleans so I assume other people will be getting them a little later?

Posted by a student admin on the official Tulane Class of 2020 FB page: All Paul Tulane and DHS award recipients will receive a letter in the mail. These letters will be mailed out by the end of this week! Anyone who applied for these awards but did not receive a scholarship will be emailed. Please remember to be considerate of everyone when discussing scholarships - there were an upwards of 1,000 applications for each award and roughly 100 recipients total. If you have any specific questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at interns@tulane.edu and we can direct you to the correct person in the admission office.
In a comment on the same post an admin stated that the email saying you didn’t receive the scholarship will be sent within the next week.
Don’t know how reliable the student interns are, but still good to have this info in mind.

I setup the UPS account and received two notifications today. (1) At 12:50pm CT, says Tulane Admission is sending a UPS Ground letter for Thursday delivery (north Houston). (2) At 1:03pm, notice of Next Day Air Saver package with different tracking number from same to be delivered tomorrow. I trust this means award of either PTA or DHS, but will wait for the actual letter. Incredible opportunity.

So- any idea if they were able to notify the stamps finalists before they shut down their office for the day?

I have a friend who was emailed about being a stamps finalist recently, so yes

I signed up for an account…how do I see if I have a package coming?

I just signed up

do we know if non-select emails went out?

I really hate being on the west coast at times like these. Hard to contact the kid during school…

I just checked. I applied for PTA and I have no incoming mail for UPS. Guess I’ll expect a rejection.

I also received an email notification similar to @WineDrinker so I’m both very excited and very cautious at this point. Best of luck to everyone and try not to give up hope.

I got notification that I have a package in the mail from Tulane. I live in Louisiana though so perhaps mine is just coming first? Good luck to everyone!

@collaroyblue

Did you get notification of one or two shipments? We clearly have two, but there could have been a mistake on one and it wasn actually filled . Like Tulane made a ground shipment in error and not using that and then made the next day shipment.

If I remember correctly it was a few days or even a week or so before the e-mails went out to students that did not receive the DHS or PT.

For those that are receiving package updates, did you apply to DHS or Paul Tulane?

I’m a bit confused about the UPS account. Did you need to verify it using a code?
