Diagnostic Medical Sonography

What are your guys' thoughts on this major? My mom has been urging me to look into it (at my school, it's a 4 year program, not 2 years like some tech schools). Apparently you can start out making $60k a year, but I'm still leaning towards doing English or Business instead.

Depending on where you live. In Wisconsin you can start at anywhere between $25-30 per hour, and that’s graduating with an Associate Degree that is accredited, it has to be Accredited.

for repetitive work like that you’ll be starting with that, but with less room for improvement. also, it’s pretty narrow, and may not help you if you don’t find a job specified by the degree.

instead i’d look into more versatile and creative work like electrical engineering or chemistry, where you could be making over 100k later on but you’ll start with a lower wage. these degrees also don’t force you to do only 1 thing: electrical engineers can work on computer hardware, telecom, radar, medical equipment, industrial instrumentation and controls, toys, management, marketing, power, etc. chemists can work on pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and chemical precursors, oil/gas, environment, biotech, hospital, marketing, management, etc. however with a diagnostic sonography degree the only thing you can do is diagnostic sonography.
