Did 6/06 Biology have an awful curve or something?

yo OptimusPrime what do u think about retaking a 790?

but this time taking E instead of M

I recieved a 760 on bio M. I only omitted 2 and missed 3. Not a very good curve :( . Oh well, I'm still happy :D

Also, in response to chronicidal:

Your score report sent to colleges shows your 6 most recent SAT Is, as well as 6 of your most recent SAT IIs

Wow. That's only 5 points off the raw score, and that's a 760. I got a 790, so what's that, 1 mistake? Damn, that's harsh.

Isn't it possible that you missed more than a few and you just assumed that the answers they posted on CC were correct?

yea i highly DOUBT that 1 question wrong is a 790...because i am pretty sure i got like 2-4 wrong and i stil have a 790 the curve is harsh thought...but not THAT harsh ( i think it was like 2 q's for an 800...or 1...)

Anyone know what the curve was like for physics?

There was nothing wrong with the curve guys. Even if it was a bit more tough, it would only be because the test was easier than normal. Therefore, the score you got is the score you deserve.

The test was harder than normal. Either that or the May test was easier than normal. I can see it two ways. I got unlucky, or all of my friends who took it in May got lucky.
Questions, again. How do colleges view a 770-retake? Does the score report show #wrong?

The test was much easier than the one in the Real SAT II book.

Charchazwick, what did you get on the test? It seemed to me that you were very confident.

I got a 790, but was expecting lower. I left 3 blank and got at least a few wrong. But yeah, the one in the collegeboard book was much harder, and therefore probably had a more lenien curve. I thought this one was much easier and therefore probably had a harder curve to make up for it.

is there a big diff between 790 and 800?
I mean i got a 790 but i am considering retaking..
whadya think?

No, colleges really don't see a difference between a 790 and an 800. It would hurt more than help if you took it again. Colleges don't like obsessive test taking.

what if i take bio E instead of M ...same thing ..or will they view them as 2 different tests? ( i hafto study bio anyways..whether i am taking the SAT II or not...so the problem isnt about studying)

If you want to, then go ahead. However, colleges couldn't care less and may somewhat penalize you for it, even if you take Bio E.

'penalize'..?..how??/what do u mean?

I'm in 9th grade and took the Bio-M, got a 720. I wonder if I should retake this.

Wow I guess a lot of people didn't get 800s. Me, Charzwick and Xylem got the same scores. Xylem don't retake it. Zafara you might consider it if you are taking Ap Bio.

720 is a decent score - but unless you took AP bio, why on earth would you take sat-ii test in your freshman year? i'm guessing it a "practice" round - in that case def. retake it.

hehe ..guess i am not the only one lol....thank badboy ... and charzwick.....i wonder what the percentiles are gonna look like.....
btw Zafara 720 is pretty good for a 9th grader...especially if u werent taking AP ...(even more so if u werent taking honors..) ...so if ur doing AP later then retake it..if not ..u might wanna consider taking 3 OTHER SAT II s(since u still have lots of time) ...and doing great on those (780's-800's) then colleges will only look at your highest three anyways...so yea...

Btw is 790 good enought for the elite schools/ivies or not?
