did any one get cal grants?

i got cal grant A for $6151 or so. does any1 get more?

The number depends on a lot of things.

You get more if the Cal Grant is to a private school (they have a higher threshhold, though it doesn't cover the same percentage of Cost of Attendance as it does at the UC/CSU level).

If you applied on time, you're likely to get more than someone who didn't (who has comparable need).

If you have high need, you're more likely to get closer to whichever upper limit the Cal Grant offers (around $7000-8000 at privates, around $5000-6000 at UC/CSU).

I only got 1500 and my EFC is 0...

The letter I got in the mail from the Cal Grant people only shows 3 of the schools that I applied to.

How can I know how much I would get for all of the other CA schools I applied to?

BTW, of the 3 schools that it shows, 2 are CalGrant A, 1 is CalGrant B and they are all different amount of $...weird?

thats weird...i got around 6100s and my EFC is 5027 while my friends EFc is 0 n he got 1551...n mine's for public schools 0,0 My dad says maybe itz cuz we pay more tax as middle income families than the low income families thats y they give us more money like a tax rebate.

if u wanna attend another school, call them.

I got my cal grant too...I got $6141. I was pretty stoked, but I didn't understand why it only had 3 schools listed either. The top one was Berkeley and they said that this was the school I am planning to attend in the fall (which I am not). Did anyone else have this problem?

the info that came with the offer explains it. You can use your calgrant at any CA school listed on the fafsa, you just have to send a letter to the CA aid commission informing them which school you actually are going to

thx lindsaylu =-)
