<p>i got 6k-- you have to have a 3.0+... and theres a clause-- you have to attend a 4-year university within 1 year, maybe thats why you weren't awarded... is this all the money the government is going to give me?</p>

<p>um not sure, last year i know people who got 9 total in financial aid. Maybe they got some from the actual school. I am not sure. I know Arnold wants to cut the aid too.</p>

<p>Hey, at least you guys got money. I got my cal grant notification today and I get NOTHING because my dad makes too much money. Yeah, sorry, but $80000 isnt going to pay for a $40000 a year school. Stupid government.</p>

<p>easymack... i didnt get the cal grant b...they base cal grant b on income.... cal grant a is based on g.p.a, you need a 3.0 to qualify</p>

<p>really? i thought both were based on income. Maybe it differs for HS and college students. Last year as a HS senior, i had 3.7 or so, didn't get any grants. Main reason i am in a cc today.</p>

<p>highschoolda, I think there is a certain income cap for all of them, but one is more need based and the other is more merit based.</p>

<p>yea, there is a cap... but for cal grant a its like 100,000 for 6+ in the family.</p>

<p>6 is awfuly big family in this day and age in America. </p>

<p>Last year my family of 4 had 97K of reported income. Result was zero aid. </p>

<p>The problem is that income is extremely misleading too.</p>

<p>I completely agree, highschoolda. I got a 3.7, but my family of 4 has an income of $80k, so I get nothing. Too bad we live in Southern CA so we dont have any extra income...</p>

Yup, I'm under that category too. And I agree with you, income can be really misleading. Anyway, I'm transferring to a UC this fall, and still, I get nothing. btw, I have a 3.6x. poop.</p>

<p>Does anyone here know what Cal Grant C is? Mine says "Program Edit Disqual," but it has no reason why.</p>
