Did anybody apply yet..?

I sent in everything around November 15th but I haven’t gotten anything from Brandeis to say that they have received my application- no email, no letter, nothing. Did anybody else apply, and have you or haven’t you gotten a confirmation from them? If everyone else got some kind of notification then I suppose I’ll have to call. Thanks!

^ I applied last week and haven’t received an email or any sort of confirmation.

I applied ED last year. I don’t remember getting anything prior to the letter in the mail. They say you will hear on December 15, but you may hear a day or two earlier. If you do get an acceptance letter you will probably not get much more information until the RD applicants get their letters. I remember this lack of information felt odd, but ultimately you will be filled in. Good luck to you both.

I applied ED around November 9 and the next week I got a postcard that said they hadn’t received my school stuff yet. The card looked like it was only meant if everything hadn’t been received yet, so I wouldn’t worry too much!

By the way, good luck!! I hope we get to be fellow Brandeisians next year!

By the way Kirby27…since I live pretty close to B-deis, should I expect to hear before 12/15?

Also, does anyone know if Brandeis often defers its ED applicants?

Thanks for the responses! I applied RD (I guess it’s more like EA because I used that priority application offer that said we’d find out by February). I was just afraid I messed something up because I’d really like to go to Brandeis!

Good luck to all the other applicants!

natedogg6693-im not sure if there is a correlation between how far you live and when you hear back. When I was reading the forums hear last year, most of the kids got their letters on the 14th.

I applied November 1st of this year for Spring 2011 transfer, received no notification whatsoever (but apparently, with Brandeis- no news is good news) on December 2nd they emailed me my acceptance letter! So hold tight! The wait is worth it!

kirby27 - I believe the distance/date correlation has to do with their policy of notifying by snail mail only. When a batch of letters is mailed from Waltham, an applicant in Newton, MA will receive it before an applicant in San Francisco, CA.

I’m curious about 6164CZ receiving an acceptance email. Has this always been the case for transfers?

We are in CA and the rest of our family will be leaving for our annual ski trip on 12/17. I will stay here with our daughter to await her ED decision if she hasn’t heard by then. I don’t have the heart to have the mail held and make her wait until 1/3 to find out.

ynottry-this brings up a good point. i would normally agree that the closer you live the faster the mail gets to you, but i found this to be false. Last year, kids from the midwest were posting on here that they received letters before Massachusetts residents.

I was unaware that Brandeis e-mailed notifications. I think this may be for transfer students only, but certainly do not quote me on that.

thanks for all the info! Just to know what to expect - does the thick letter/thin letter conception hold true at Brandeis?

Just to update, today I did get a postcard from them.

“Greetings from Brandeis! We have received your application and are excited to begin reviewing your credentials for admission…etc… We will be using this address [they put my email on the card] to correspond with you in the future about the status of your application…”

Thanks again!

I forgot about the postcard.

natedogg6693- you will know the decision from the outside of the envelope. The acceptance letter comes in a large envelope that says “congratulations” on the front.
