Did anyone choose Davis over UCSD?

MEEEE

i actually was slightly more torn between USC and davis than UCSD… although UCSD was right there behind USC… i had a really hard time because, i mean… it’s davis. it’s so easy to listen to what people say about the whole agricultural thing. people gave me a lot of crap… how could i even consider davis?
but then i toured the campus.
and i knew right then and there that they didn’t have a clue of what they were talking about. (=
i sincerely hope that things turn out well for them in their “prestigious” schools, living out boast-worthy dreams that were never even theirs.

it’s about where YOU’RE meant to be, and I’m so glad I didn’t listen to them!

I have friends who have turned down UCB, UCLA, and UCSD to attend UCD. It’s all about personal preference. I visited the campus last year before transferring in and fell in love with the vibe. I’ve lived in the city atmosphere (NJ/NYC area and now San Jose) most of my adult life and welcomed in the small town feel UCD has to offer.

Heck now that I can remember, I have another friend who’s studying pure mathematics that turned down UCB to attend UCSC. He loved it there and couldn’t stand the Berkeley campus.

i’m a transfer student & had transfer agreements w/both schools lol  . but i chose davis over ucsd because i didn’t like the literature/english program at ucsd, and also, davis’ english program is ranked a bit higher than ucsd’s, if that makes any difference. =p plus, i live in the bay area and like how davis is only a 1.5 hour drive if ever i need to bolt back over to the bay :D

Sorry for going off topic but, is Monterey Bay really just 90 minutes away? On google maps it says about 3 hours O.O
I’ve never been able to go to Davis to visit because of family issues, but thats a BIG gap.

I’m in San Jose and from here going on 101 to Monterey it’s about an hour or so. From San Jose to Davis is a little less than 2 hours, so from Monterey to Davis being about 3 hours sounds right.
