I am really worried because my highest SAT II was U.S. History which was a 680. I am not retaking it because I know that there is no way I can improve both History and physics(only learned half of the materials on the test in class and devoted weeks on the prep book, but only made a 630). The only score I think I can improve is the Math II, but I really don't want to waste my parents' money if it isn't going to have much effects. Physics and Math II are both 630.

My GPA and other factors are all above average.
I am first generation immigrant from a low income family as well, but I don't think this is going affect me much.

yea I know. Schools I am applying to indicates that they will accept the January scores, but what if they review my application before that date?

are you sure? I just read an article from Harvard's Deans of Admissions. He said SAT II is a better indicator of how well a student will do in college.

You can give us a better indicator by saying which colleges you are applying to. If you are looking at Ivies/equivalents, yes, those SAT IIs will probably be a negative aspect, but not by too much.

Unfortunately, 630s on Math II and Physics will not look great at CMU or Harvard and definitely not good at MIT. If you're otherwise qualified, they won't necessarily keep you from being admitted, but they certainly won't help. If you think you can bring up your Math II score (which you should certainly be able to do if you think you're qualified to attend any of these schools) then I would say you should definitely give it a shot. It doesn't cost too much money to take the test and if you can bring your score up then it's worth it. If you do decide to retake it, though, make sure you contact the admissions reps at your schools and let them know to expect the score report so that they can hold off on making final judgment of your application.
