Did anyone not take Pre Calculus?

I am a senior and have not taking Pre Calculus but have the oppurtunity to take it this semester should I?

You should do what makes you happy, and brings the greatest amount of joy into your soul. Nothing more.

What would be the purpose of taking it? If you plan to major in math or science in college, then yes, take it.

yes you should. Many humanities courses (e.g., sociology, psychology, econ) require at least a rudimentary background in calc. Even tho you may be thinking Eng Lit major as a HS senior, the vast majority of kids change their major 2-3 times in college, if for no other reason is that HS does not expose you to all of the possible academic disciplines. Some (many?) colleges do not offer precalc, so by not taking it in HS, you are closing the potential door to a lot of college majors.

You may have specific goals (studying economics, for instance) that require a knowledge of calculus. If you have goals such as those, you should take precalculus. The taking of precalculus, that in itself, may not "bring the greatest amount of joy into your soul", but it may be in your long term best interests.

Lots of majors require math or statistics. It's simply untrue that only math and science majors require calculus (or precalculus). Some colleges have GE requirements that include math, up to a certain level.

Yeah, some schools might require you to take a calculus course and they might not have an intro class like PreCalc. You might as well try to be introduced to it now, and that will help you with math during college.

well I suck at math, I mean when I say suck i mean succcck. So I plan to major in journalism and if I switch my major it will have nothing to do with math. Right now the only math I am taking is ap stats which is OK.

i decided to take ap stat instead of precalc for my senior year
