Did anyone receive financial aid information with acceptance?

My question on the GW message board was answered. Any merit aid was included in the admissions packet. Oh well.
We know we have more financial resources to pay for school than others. I just think the formula should not take into account your home equity, and retirement resources We still are way behind on contributing to retirement. We just can't spend $210 grand for GW. If we got any merit aid at all we would strongly consider GW though because it is a better school that the others my son got into.

should i call the school if i have yet to receive my acceptance package? located in south florida

My son has not received his either. Waiting to make decisions. Hope acceptance
and FA package arrives soon. PROFILE was sent 2 weeks late. I hope this will not be a problem. Sent 14th of month was supposed to be sent the 1st. Will this
harm FA package.

S received package today. Seems very generous. Basically most of the need was accounted for taking into account our EFC. Fed loans maxed, but I can accept that with the deferment and low interest.

My financial aid package was surprisingly...bad. I mean they still gave me aid, but I got something like around $26,000 to $30,000 at Macalester, Boston U, and American (which was a good amount, pretty much in line with EFC, and reasonable for my family to pay), yet GW only gave me $16,500. How good is the GW financial aid office at redoing (or whatever the word is) financial aid packages? I could pay more than what the other schools expected me to, but I don't think I can pay like $33,500 a year!

Upsilamba: Did you receive any merit aid? That may have affected any grant aid.

I don't think so. There wasn't anything with my admissions packet, but my financial aid award sheet listed a "Board of Trustees Scholarship" and a "University and Alumni Award," both of which I assume are just need based. The only other thing I can think of is if some form was submitted late, but my dad (who filled out all the FA forms) was pretty organized in terms of what all the schools I applied to wanted and when their deadlines were...

got mine today 49,700 WOW i am shocked!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, I got a whopping 50,131 dollars from them. Holy moly.

I got 49,000-ish! This is, by far, the best financial aid offer I've gotten from anywhere yet.

where do you all live...I hope I get mine soon. I live in Chicago...

Remember that the offer is only as good as the COA.

what does COA stand for?

I just got my financial packet today, it came one week after the acceptance letter. I got a 20Kgrant a year plus 4000 loan. Not so bad at all

Financial aid package arrived here today. The amount is what I expected.

I just got my acceptance letter with a presidential scholarship award. Does the financial aid package come after this, or did I just not get any aid?

Financial aid notification letter will follow the acceptance package, if you qualify for need based aid.

We received the FinAid letter separately - it arrived yesterday. It listed the merit scholarship along with their other offering of FinAid.

i didn't get any aid at all. only the 15 k presidential scholarship. I definitely cannot afford 35+ thousand dollars a year...

Still haven't received FA letter. Wondering if it got lost in the mail (I do qualify, in case anyone asks).
