is it possible to call you from the admisson office. they did and i wasn't home. what would they want at this time?

I mean, it could be anything. They could be missing a piece of your application, that may have gotten lost in the mail/their admissions shuffle. That wouldn’t be a big deal because you could easily just request anything be sent out again (such as transcripts/recs). It wouldn’t have a neg. impact on your app, 'cause besides it being possibly their fault, the people who put together the initial app for preparation and make sure you have all your materials/etc. are not the same people who actually admit or reject you. I got a call and they were asking what I scored on my APs and my SATS (random, since I filled that out on the online app anyway, as well as sent them the score reports). Idk what that was about.

Or, you could have been accepted already and they’re calling to congratulate you. I got a call from the admissions office fairly early about THAT too, being like, we love you, anything we can tell you about MD, etc. But idk that it was before Christmas!

Call 'em back tomorrow, I’m sure they’ll be around. And let us know what they said ;).

Oh yeah, I remember that last year…DS started getting calls about now from students, encouraging him to go to Maryland, offering to answer any questions he had, etc. It’s a nice touch!

DS got those calls too. The first ones were generic about the university, the ones that came after acceptance was from the Scholars dept.

i called them back but nobody answers. what should i do???

i called them again. they wanted my foreign transcript from my country. can i send a copy of that or do i have to send the original one? Email or post???

As far as transcripts, they always want an original for any transcripts, but I don’t know what they do regarding foreign transcripts. You should ask them to be sure. If you just send in a copy and they want something different, that will just delay things.

I agree with astro, for stateside students they want a “sealed” transcript from the school. It maybe different for international, but I would bear on the safe side go to the gc, get a “sealed” transcript and pay the extra cost to FEDEX so you know for sure that they got it quickly and you can track the actual date.

I can tell you that our DS had issues with his AP scores and had to send them 3 times from the board. The last time we had them sent to us, did not open it, and then we placed it in a priority envelope with signature guaranteed.

thanks guys
