After my December scores were delivered to me, I was astonished by how poorly I did. It’s not until yesterday that a friend of mine told me that the pencil that I was using for the exam could be numbered differently, and the pencil has no label. I tried a Google search and no one seem to have this problem but now I am really worried. Should I go request and pay for a score verification?
I don’t know if I used a 3B pencil, but according to the conversion chart, it seems like a 3B.
Your friend lives with you and your family in a huge apt and knows what pencil you used to take a test. This is hard to fathom. You have 2 choices- retake (which assume you will) or ask for a hand-scored verification. Whats the question? If you want to, do it. Maybe you missed a line and were off by one. Who knows.
** Oh wait- You claimed you got a 2290 in the past retaking was not necessary ( if thats true). And you claim you don’t know what pencil you used , despite googling, yet you call it a 3B in the thread title. Come on now.
How pessimistic and doubtful you are about his situation? @jym626 ; after 3 posts, you still haven’t answered his question- all you’re trying to do is prove his situation isn’t real. Seriously?
Read more carefully, thetex, as the question was answered. But as you are likely aware, there are many bored students wasting time on cc over the holidays and this thread has the “eau de baloney” smell to it. There are many things that simply do not add up.
your previous posts indicate you have a 2290 sat and 35 act. you shouldn’t have been retaking in the first place (unless you mean an sat2), in any case I wouldn’t bother with paying for it since you already have such high scores.
Exactly, @gormar099 ! If. That’s. true (about the previous scores). Sometimes posters put up scores and then say they were predicted scores based on practice tests.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Whether the OP lives under a bridge or not, the question is a valid one to some users, I am sure. As @GMTplus7 says, the 3B lead is darker. If your scores were less than idea, it was not the result of the pencil. Having given/seconded the definitive answer, I am closing this thread.
