Did I just get accepted?

Hey y’all,

I just got an e-mail from San Francisco State’s financial aid office saying,

“Welcome to San Francisco State University! The Office of Student Financial Aid is eager to help you discover ways to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and expenses as you pursue your college degree. We are excited to support you in this process!”

Then there’s a long list of ways that I can apply for scholarships and FAFSA. But it does say in there, “Apply now even if you haven’t received an admissions decision.”

So, uh, I’m confused, lmao.

The financial aid office would never release information about decisions.

@anxiousenior1 That’s what I thought. I just thought that maybe they sent out some sort of admissions decision via their undergraduate admissions office that I somehow didn’t see and now financial aid was reminding me to do my FAFSA, lol.

Check the portal. On another thread, there is a report of a freshman, out-of-area, California applicant getting the “Accept or Decline” button there within the last two days. If that button shows up, I believe that means you have been offered admission. Then shortly a letter will come in the mail and email (if past threads about SFSU admission work out the same way this year). Good Luck!

I got that too and something about housing but still no acceptance email or letter in mail.

@ForeIN Same. My friends have all heard back from them already, but I have yet to get any type of acceptance notification. What’s your major? If it’s an impacted one like mine, we might not be hearing back for awhile. (Someone on another thread told me April 1st for transfers with AA-Ts in impacted majors.)

@aepaige
I’m biochem, What’s yours?
Wow I didn’t know they’d take longer for impacted. I’m local so I thought it’d be quick like East Bay notified me so fast and their acceptance rate is higher than SF!

@ForeIN I’m a psych major, which apparently is the second most popular major at the CSUs after business.

And I think they’re being careful with impacted majors, and waiting for ADT verification for some, so I think that’s what taking so long.

@aepaige Have you heard anything yet? The person I talked to at the school said late February, and now it’s late February and still nothing.

@boxandwhiskers Nothing at all. I’m an ADT transfer and those decisions seem to take longer. :confused:

My daughter received an acceptance letter about 3 weeks ago, conditional upon keeping up her grades. It came via US Mail.

@2Tired My friends were accepted electronically, via the SFSU portal, about three weeks ago. Their majors weren’t impacted, though. What is your daughter’s major?

Hi - she’s a Communications Major. She’s interested in PR and marketing.

Have you guys sent your transcripts yet? Nothing has showed up on my To-do list regarding transcripts or ADT verification so I’m getting a little worried. Also, does SFSU use the eVerify website when verifying ADT degrees or do we actually have to personally send them some sort of verification?

@sdsuaztecs I wasn’t told to send transcripts, and my friends who were accepted didn’t send them at all. The ADT verification is done by your CC, not by them, and your CC will tell you if they uploaded it or need to send it by mail.

@aepaige Thanks for the info!

@aepaige I got in!! got the letter in the mail yesterday and they emailed me last week. Have you heard back yet?
