Did I make a huge scheduling mistake

My school of choice would be UCLA, studying pre med. As a junior I have 2 APs, Lang and Chem along with two honors (marine bio and drama). As a sophmore I took AP Bio. Next year I will have 4 APs but I am really worried that this year my APs were lacking, how important would it have been to have had another AP in there like US or Psych.

Also, would SAT II's of Bio, Chem, and Math II be considered bad because there isn't a non science in there?

The rest of my classes, if they matter, include Pre Calc, Physics and Yearbook. So next year I will have AP Gov, AP Calc, AP Physics, and AP Lit, if they don't end up during the same period.

If you can/want, you could take AP physics this year. Its pretty easy as long as you understand the concepts. Then you could take AP Physics C in your senior year.

About the SAT IIs: for most science related fields, math II and a science is all they want, you might want to talk to the UCLA admissions however, to make sure.

Oh and btw, in AP physics, all of the normal/honors physics material is covered in the first few weeks. Talk to your teacher about that however, as it might be different in your school.

i can take physics next year this year as a senior. For me, senior year is going to be tougher than junior year was and I’ve been hearing that junior year is what was supposed to be the most difficult.

So you worried because you don’t think you took enough APs this year? It’s honestly too late to worry about that, but two APs and a couple of honors classes seems fine to me. Obviously the grades you got in those courses is important too. But it certainly looks like you’re on the right track for UCLA, if you do well on SAT/SAT IIs. Just make sure you don’t get in over your head next year with too many APs and then struggle. Luckily, the UCs don’t require a mid-year report so they will not see your first semester senior grades unless you get in and choose to enroll.

I wouldn’t worry about it at all as long as your grades/SAT’s are good. I took 1 AP my sophomore year, 2 my junior year, and 2 my senior year. All my other classes were honors. But I never even got higher than Honors Algebra II in math, and I never took any science AP’s. I -did- get all A’s in my AP classes and all 5’s on the tests so far. My SAT and SAT II’s were good, and my GPA was a 4.33 UC GPA I think. Hope that helps. :)
