Did I make the EA deadline???

so i was thinking, and now i'm worried that i may have not made EA afterall. I submitted my app Oct 31 and received the "your app was on time and will be considered for EA if you submit all necessary material by the deadline" email. Then, on November first at like 8 or 9 pm I realized that I had forgotten to send in my test scores ... so I got on collegeboard and sent them in. Are they still 'postmarked' nov 1st or whatnot? am i still in the EA pool?

Also, my teacher recs were submitted oct 20th or something and they showed up nov 30th on WA. I called in and asked and they said that they had received them (i called like nov 12th or something) but they didnt update on the site until the 30th ...

so what do you guys think?

i’m guessing no. but the way you can know for sure is calling the office of undergrad. admissions. they’ll tell you if you’re being considered for EA.

i can’t call! they close at 5:30 which is 4:30 where I live and I don’t get home from school/afterschool stuff until then

The exact same thing (with the test scores) happened to my friend. He had everything in by October 14th, forgot to send his ACT score, and sent it in past the deadline. Admissions said he’s NOT in the Early Decision pool. Sorry, man.

But i didn’t send it past the deadline, i sent it on november first … which was the deadline.

yes you may have ordered your test scores to be sent on the deadline but at 8 or 9pm at night no one is there to send out the score. The testing agency wouldn’t have gotten the score out into the mail until possibly a few business days later

isn’t it electronic though?

College Board takes a few days to send orders, even electronically. Meaning if you call on the 1st to have them sent, they usually send it on the 2nd or 3rd.

so would it be “postmarked” the day I requested it or the day the got around to sending it.

Also, if I said I wanted to do EA on my application, wouldn’t michigan contact me if i was missing anything?

as far as i kno, it’s all the about the postmarked date.

It’s the day THEY send it. Though when my friend and I called the university, they said to call CollegeBoard and have them contact the school’s ACT/SAT Rep (I guess they have those?) to explain the situation. We had a bunch of issues with them, and long story short, they pretty much refused to call U of M and admit their mistake, but maybe it’ll work out better for you. Good luck!

Just to let you all know, they were sent on time :)

Nice! Good to hear. Hope you get a decision soon!

^ Crono: Don’t ever post these types of comments on other student’s chance threads again,
^ "You’re a crap student and a slacker, you can’t get in. Go apply to Northwood, it’s the best college in the history of mankind. Or maybe SVSU, GV, and CMU. " -Crono

How do you expect others to chance you, when you make this type of comments for other people’s chances. You worthless piece of *. GTF and UMich does not deserve embarrassment like you .

thanks crono
and wow mi2014, he said that?
kinda messed up…

Dude, chill out. The person I said that to is a good friend of mine. It’s a big inside joke about a counselor of ours who calls him a slacker and constantly badgers him to apply to Northwood and Grand Valley. I’m not THAT big of a jerk! :P

But quite frankly, your lack of any civility or ability to discern the situation speaks volumes for your character. You’d think that a university as prestigious as U of M would accept students who could construct a coherent and witty retort, but I guess belligerent cursing’s the best we’ve got. Go blue.

And again, jackdaniels, glad you got the situation sorted out, and good luck. Hope you don’t think I’m that big of a ** for a joke comment hahaha.
