Did I mess up my chances of transferring for Fall 2018?

Hello,

I have been seriously stressing over dropping an important math course. So for Fall 2017, my schedule consisted of three back-to-back classes, the most important ones being Anthropology and Statistics. I was doing okay at first in all of the classes, but my schedule eventually became too much for me to handle. I ended up dropping Statistics because I was in danger of failing.

As a sociology major, the only math requirement (for IGETC) I have to complete is Statistics. For Spring 2018, that class will be the final prerequisite left to complete.

Did dropping Statistics ruin my chances of being accepted to places like UCSC, UCSD, and UCSD?

Well they do like to see it and fall completion is required for TAG, so I guess it just boils down to how they view it. You can still get in, it’s not a deal breaker. They might put a req in that you get a certain grade in it for spring in your provisional. I’ve seen them do that a couple of times. Be sure to give a good reason for dropping when you update the TAU (work commitments, heavy schedule, etc).
