Hi,

I updated my Fall 2011 grades and planned spring courses on Jan. 31st.

I am currently taking a Stats class that just started this week and I'm not feeling the course and professor.

My intent is to drop it and take a Liberal Arts class instead; considering I am taking 4 other courses which is a lot for me. If I were to do this, how negative will the impact be in regards to the reviewing of my application?

I am a Philosophy/Political Science major and the Stats class is not a required prerequisite.

I’m in the same position I’m also trying to drop one of my classes. The class I want to get rid off is trigonometry and I don’t really need the class because I passed my Statistics over fall semester.

I dont think its going to look bad unless the class you are taking is required to full fill your IGETC or major.

Make sure you call each campus you applied and notify them.

That what I also need to do on monday (:

Thanks for the response. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Yet, I do need the stats class or any other transferrable math class like the Liberal Arts one I want to take for IGETC.

Both of you should be fine. But go ahead and update your schedule on TAU. Most UCs will be pulling in updates from the TAU until the end of March.

What about a W that’s needed for an IGETC class, but I plan to take it in the spring?
The class I withdrew from was a chemistry class that was to fulfill the physical science portion of IGETC and I put it as in progress. I do plan to take another science class to fulfill that portion in the spring.

Do I need to notify the UC’s I applied to individually or will updating the TAU before march be alright?

Thanks for the reply :)

@jhdai01, updating TAU should be sufficient for now.
