Did I need to tell my CC about my academic history?

Two years ago, I failed out of a university after one semester. I decided to enroll in a community college as a full time student this year, hoping to start fresh with a clearer mind. However, I didn’t provide the info that I attended the previous university as there weren’t any transferable credits on it anyway but now I am reading that maybe I should have.

I plan on providing that info when transferring out of here, but do I need to send that information to the current community college I am attending?

Yes. You need to provide a record of ALL of your post-secondary education. There is a rather accurate clearing house database that will probably indicate all of the schools you have attended, so if you don’t provide all of the transcripts, they will probably catch you.

There is no reason not to send the information to your community college; they will simply not give you credit for anything below a C.
