Did I pick the wrong school? (to current cal poly students)

Liz, yes Grad students are able to use the Rec. I’m not positive if it’s included in your tuition as it is for undergrad…they have weird rules with alumni and faculty but I’m sure you’re able to GET a membership if you aren’t already paying for it.

The rec is AMAZING. like mind blowing. I don’t feel like I’m at a college gym and it’s super open and bright because of all the windows. Right now it sucks because they’re cleaning and renovating everything on the top floor but only to make it pristine for Fall…so it just sucks for summer school! There’s rock climbing, racquet ball, volleyball, tennis, swimming, yoga, spin, pilates, abs, body pump, tons of machines…I could go on…It’s great too if you’re into health like me because it’s EMPTY weekend mornings  I’ll stop now…but yeah when it first opened it was the only thing I talked about. And now? It’s in my top 5 topics… hehe

70% of SLO city voters are registered democrats. The whole liberal lifestyle is all around the place. Yes there are quiet a few Caucasians at the school, and the whole city is 80% Caucasian. But don’t let the race factor intimidate you. It doesn’t matter what people’s decent are. Finding people with similar values and interests is more important.
