Did I screw myself over by taking OChem and calc over the summer?

I know I’ve asked a question about taking per reqs over the summer before, but now I’m becoming increasingly nervous about not getting in due to taking these classes over the summer.

I didn’t do well in gen chem 1 or stats, and I feel it’s because I didn’t really know how to study for math and science classes. In high school, it was just do a couple practice problems and you’re set. Not so much here. I didn’t fail, but I got B’s in both.

I took OChem 1 + lab and calc 1 this summer and I got an A in both. I was happy and thought it was indicative that I was doing better. But my fear now is that med schools will think the classes were easier and I had more time to study. My plan now is to get an A in OChem 2 and pchem, and rock the MCAT orgo section. Obviously these are hopeful dreams and will require a lot of work.

My question basically is, if I prove I retained the info and that I’m able to do well despite having more classes, will it outweigh the summer classes? I have no intentions of taking any more pre reqs over the summer.

I think you are ok, if you took those in your primary univ. not from a community college.

@artloversplus Yeah, they’re at my primary univ
