did i screw myself over?

hey

new guy here.

i've taken the SAT twice: once last december, and then again this april.

december (2330):
CR: 760
Math: 800
Writing: 770 - 10 Essay

april (2280):
CR: 800
Math: 770
Writing: 710 - 9 Essay

question(s): how bad is it that my writing dropped 60 points/total score dropped 50 points? do ivies/top colleges really only look at the best from each category?

i'm aiming pretty tops for college...and considering taking this test again.

thanks a bunch

1) Are you insane? The difference between a 2330 and a 2400 is miniscule. Taking the test again was a waste, IMO. Your above average in terms of SATs at most, if not all of the top colleges.

2) Yes, they look at the best. It's about potential.

well....i dont wanna wrorry you though, but i know UCs indeed look at your best sitting. anyway, most others, at least i believe, take the highest ones
