My first SAT, I scored a 2050 (610 CR, 790 M, 650 W) and on the second one I just scored a 2050 again (670 CR, 700 M, 680 W). I'm tired of the SAT and I'm trying to get into top engineering schools (e.g. Michigan, UIUC, Purdue), so I need to know the best way to prep for the ACT, that is what books are best and whether or not I should get a private tutor. Help is immensely appreciated.

I self studied, but it required a lot of discipline. I also used the money I could’ve spent on a tutor towards more college applications. If you don’t think you can schedule yourself to study by yourself and can afford the money, then go for the tutor.

I found the ACT a lot better for me (score wise). The official red ACT book is probably the best resource. Read all the tips and do all their practice problems.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

@romeonachos Thanks a lot, one question though, I just bought the red book and was wondering what other books/materials would best complement it for learning strategies, specifically for reading and science.

You do know that those schools superscore SAT and your total is a 2140, right? BTW, make sure you check the Net Price Calculator on each web site to see if you can afford those OOS public Us.

Relatively bad? Lol I must be an idiot
