Did your schedule get messed up?

oh that’s not that big of a deal then. you can just fix that by asking them

For my senior year, they put all study halls. I went in and told them what classes I wanted after I got a phone call, and where I wanted them. They printed out like a confirmation schedule. The first day of school I get my schedule and see that it was still very messed up (but my schedule was highly complicated).

I was supposed to schedule the first 4 periods. At 11, I was to sign out and go home. I had 4 college classes, and would attend those to fulfill the 8 class requirement. The principal had to sign off on the leaving thing. Anyway, I had a class scheduled period 7 I believe. I just left anyway, and it was fixed a few days later.

Wow Helljumper. Why would schools give you your schedule the day before or the day of school? That creates a HUGE mess for themselves, students, and teachers. Somebody’s gotta be smart in that office and think about shipping it during the summer.

we get of schedule like two weeks before school starts. if your schedule is mixed up only the principal can change it. its not that bad though, just kinda crowded, and you can change it whenever you want.

We get our schedules about three weeks before school starts, with fixes occurring on August 24th and 25th. This year our school went from 9 periods to 8, and as a result plenty of people had messed up schedules. Mine got messed up for the first time this year.

Basically, I was supposed to take AP Spanish, but they replaced AP Spanish with Advanced Theology and put me in Spanish IV. I signed up for Advanced Theology, but I didn’t know it would cause a problem. I was surprised because my Spanish teacher had said that anyone recommended for AP Spanish couldn’t be in Spanish IV. The reason for all this was that the Advanced Theology class and the AP Spanish class were both first period.

Anyway, I managed to get my schedule changed so that I’m in AP Spanish, but in regular Theology.

We get our schedules about a week before school starts, and things can be changed only if there’s an error in it. I couldn’t take Aerobics, the gym class which I wanted, because of scheduling problems, and ended up in Sophomore Gym as a senior. Also I got a class with a teacher I didn’t want. Minor problems compared to some of yours though.

My schedule was heavily messed up. A lot of it had to do with math.

I’m Independent Studying Calculus because my schedule was screwed up.
They somehow wanted me to drop AP/IB Psych SL and IB Bio HL…meaning no diploma for me. That wasn’t going to work out, lol.

My schedule is messed up, and what’s worse, I have a NEW counselor (right before senior year. Ughh.) And this new counselor is not helpful at all. :(

Got mine in and it’s totally screwed up. I contacted the AP Studio Art and AP Art History teacher to ask her if the two would be seperate this year (in the past few years, they’ve been together at my school.) She told me yes, so I signed up for AP Art History only.

AP Studio Art is also listed on my schedule.

Now, I have to call them and see if the classes are truly together since they’re seperate on my schedule.

Then, I’m stuck with a teacher who admitted he only had a college course and a summer course in psychology for AP Psychology! What’s the point of taking the class if I know more than the teacher? Plus, he’s incredibly boring.

It seems like half of the senior class at my school have schedule problems this year :/

When I got my schedule, I had an empty period, and a conflict 2nd period. Now I have to withdraw from AP Lit, and the only open Language Arts course is 1) ridiculously easy and 2) only a semester long. So write now I’m signed up to take the same, basic course twice in a row  :frowning: Oh, and the waiver I received for two required classes was retracted, so . . . not sure what I’m going to do there.

Schedule pick up day was an all out disaster. We literally had people crying in the hallways. A friend of mine had 4 empty periods and now has to drive six miles to a local school for his fifth period, and be back at our school for sixth. Another was enrolled for the same class twice in one day. It’s a mess :/

I got my schedule last night and they screwed up completely. I only have 3 classes each semester, two of which are year long and one semester long course doesent count for a credit, so that leaves me with 27 credits out of 28 needed to graduate at the end of the year, pretty bad considering im a senior this year. Then when I went earlier today to get an Agriculture Internship at my school(in charge of greenhouse, chicken coop, etc. at the school) I was asked why would I want to have a full schedule as a senior and that they dont want seniors in the school after third block(1:30). The class that doesnt count for a credit is Senior Project Seminar, bassis of the class is they help you put together a portfolio and presentation to complete your senior project(required to graduate), but it is a class where you sit there and talk on the phone, play on the computer. and supposedly that class is supposed to make you a better citizen. My school must have gone crazy.

Wow. I love my school after reading this.

In February, we pick our classes. I then think that they figure out the master schedule over spring break, and we get our schedules in mid-August. I assume that they just plug everything into a computer program, and it seems to work pretty well. I haven’t heard of anyone whose schedule is messed up.

I got placed in Calculus AB instead of BC, but that quickly got fixed. I’d also requested to take AP French Language at first, due to a graduation requirement at this new school I’ve transferred to (see my thread titled “Foreign language issue; please help.” for more details), but everything worked out and I can now take AP Spanish Literature. Yay!

Ok, in a few hours I am going to registration. Hopefully they made all of the corrections! Otherwise, I’m going to have to change three or four classes:/

In three years, my school has never once given me a correct schedule. In both freshman and sophomore years, I quite literally had no math classes for the entire year.

This year, I was able to go in to the office a week before school got out to personally plan my schedule. Sadly, they’ll probably mess it up this time, too. Not to mention the fact that the classes on my schedule most likely to get messed up (Math and German) don’t allow any sort of independent study period…

Heck yes they did! They gave me one semester of AP calculus when it’s a full year course. But the policy is if you take only one semester of an AP class but not the second, you only get level 1 weighted for the grade you get. WTH?! Why would I let my grade be weighted less if the material is twice as hard? Not cool! Now when I go to the guidance counselor’s next week they’re going to be all hostile and be reluctant to help me. My guidance counselor hates me so much; in the last two years her goal was to get me out of her office as soon as possible. She’s not much help at all.

My sched got messed up big time. It was supposed to be like this, in no order:
APUSH
AP Lang
Spanish IV Hon
Precal Hon
Anatomy
Band

It ended up as this:
APUSH
Psych
AP Lang
Spanish IV Hon
Anatomy
Precal Hon

I couldn’t do band, which was offered solely first period, but if I took band, then I would have to drop APUSH, which is offered 1st and 6th only. It wouldn’t be a problem if I could just do band first and APUSH 6th, but trig and spanish are both only offered 4th and 6th…hahah

Uhm, blah.

I’m nearly done with my chemistry summer assignment. Then I look at my schedule and it says “environmental science” for 7th period and “Honors Gov” for 4rth. Since I am nearly done with Chem assignment, which was long, I was no way in hell going to drop it. Now, since Ap + hon gov are at same time, I have to do regular. … … … Whatever.

I also have to do German 4
German 1 = Fail. All I did was talk.
German 2 = Fail. Imporvment
German 3 = Boring. 1/2 the class I had my head down. The other half I copied fellow classmates (everyone copies, and the teacher is pretty lax – sometimes).
German 4 = Hell. Omg like only 2 girls from German 3 is going to be in there. Blah
At least it is a slaking-ish class. I do terrible on tests, but classwork and these points we get generally make my grade high. At east one of the girls in there is the one I use to copy off of, L0L. I don’t understand the language since I didn’t pay attention freshman year, sadly. I think t would be interesting if I remembered.

Now I have two regular classes, blah. But I guess it’s senior year. Best enjoy it? I hate high school, though. lol.

8 days!!!

Nothing that couldn’t be fixed.

Also, despite the fact that I’m taking 8 APs tests, none of them overlap on exam week! I’m so happy.
