Didn't get accepted to Community College?!

So I applied to Kingsborough Community College and New York City College of Technology for the Nursing program. I applied about a week late of the deadline for the Spring 2016 semester and just got an e-Mail saying “After careful review of your Freshman Admission Application and supporting documents, we are unable to offer you admission to the college choice(s) listed below for the Spring 2016 semester. Kingsborough Community College and NYC College Of Technology.” WHAT DO I DO? Please help! I really want to go to KCC because it’s really close and I have not taken the SAT’s when I was in high school. Please help!

I think you answered your own question. You applied late.
You are rejected, they don’t take back rejections.

Nursing programs are extremely competitive and often you will have to take 1-2 years of prerequisites before your application will even be considered. And yes, that includes Community Colleges. There are rarely direct admits to nursing programs What most students do is matriculate as a liberal arts students, take the necessary prerequisites and then apply according to the school’s process. The school you are interested may have info sessions for the nursing program to help you understand the process.

Thanks!

@zettyberg: Have you completed your nursing prerequisites and is now ready to apply to the actual nursing program or this is your first time applying to a community college (or any college for that matter)? I think you should contact the school(s) to get a find out the reason for your rejection from one or both programs (it might not be due to late application).

You applied late and so the program was probably full. Both of those colleges are pretty far apart though. If you’re set on going to a CUNY community college, apply to some of the others. I think they almost all offer the same or equivalent programs.

Check out LagCC and BMCC for their articulation agreements. Alternately, try starting at Kingsboro and see if you can transfer into their nursing program. Once they get to know you, this process might be easier.
