Didn't get into the UC I applied to...

Honestly I don't know what's up...
I applied to UC Davis with a 3.7-3.8 GPA and all that other extracurricular things.

Right now I'm completely upset over this and is lost on what to do now....
I wanted to transfer over...but right now I feel like it's a HUGE waste of time.

Take the community college route. You can transfer in as a junior, and you’ll be saving a huge amount of money in the process.

I don’t know why but for some reason, the admissions seem tough this year…

I have some friends of mine who are just as good as or better than I am but didn’t make the cut for UCLA or even UCSD

Mooie moocow

i LIVE in Davis, and have since I was 2. Both my parents went to UCD.
I have a 3.66 weighted gpa and 1850 on SATS and ec’s. And I still didn’t get in.
I expected to get in, but I wasn’t 100% on that, so now I am going to appeal.

But…I think it may be because I applied as a Mechanical Eng. I dont know why I did this…I dont even want to major in that. Also, my second choice was impacted as well. I’m not saying that I didn’t get in Because of that…but I think it did play a role in the decision as I do not have courses to back up mech. eng.

UC Davis Freshman Admission Profile Fall 2010

Last year, admit rate with a 3.6 GPA was about 21 percent. Seems way harder this year.

My son was told if you didn’t get in where you applied, you will get an offer, probably Merced, shortly.
