Im reading on these forums that if I took an AP class and didnt take the AP test it might hurt my admissions. This year I took the AP physics B class but not the test because most colleges dont accept B as credit anyways (my teacher even made this clear in the beginning of the year!). Since i was already taking 5 other AP tests/classes I didn't want to blow another 100 dollars on a test that wouldn't be used anyways. Should I explain on the common app or leave it be? I took the SAT II subject for physics so they wont think my A is a fluke or I had an easy teacher.

I would not even mention it. You had a valid reason, which you can certainly answer if an interviewer asks. But I would not initiate the conversation.

Physics B is a solid HS physics course, but it’s not quite college level. You did the right thing to skip the $100 test. DON’T “explain” this on the Common App. SAT II physics is the more important test.

OK Thanks
