Difference between entering U of I in DGS VS. LAS?

Hi guys!! I recently got accepted into University of Illinois Division of General Studies for next year and am strongly considering going. When I applied earlier this year I only applied to DGS because I had absolutely no clue what I was interested in. However, now I am like 97 percent sure that I want to ultimately end up in the college of Liberal Arts and Sciences and study biology after different experiences as well as senior year classes. I was wondering what are requirements of DGS and how do they differ from entering LAS? Like is there required classes about figuring out your future? Please advise. Thanks!!

DGS is just the undecided major. If you know that you want to do bio you’d register for bio classes until you fufil whatever that department’s transfer requirements are, and then you’d transfer into LAS.

I’m not sure which biology you’re interested in (Integrative or Micro/Cell), but go to the department websites and click on the transfer page.
