Difference in SAT scores hurt at Stanford?

Stanford requires all scores ever taken. I have already sent them all my scores from every sitting in the SAT and ACT, I was just wondering if it will hurt that I got an 1800 the first time I took it and a 2200 the second time I took it? Even though they see the 1800, will they ignore it and look at the 2200 only, or will it work in my favor if they see it as “this student was serious about improving”, or will they see it as the last scenario of: “ouch, 1800 is bad enough to reject this kid even though he got a 2200 the second time”?? Thanks!

Also, that 2200 was with a 630 in CR, 800 in Math, 770 in Writing. But I got a 34 on the ACT Reading section which is much better than 630. Will colleges see the 34 and understand that the 630 was a fluke?

No, colleges won’t see the 630 CR and 34R and think the 630CR is a fluke. That 2200 is what I would deem a “weak” 2200 SAT. 630CR is extremely low, and it places you well below the 25th percentile. As for your other question, I think the 1800 SAT will only slightly affect Stanford’s admissions. Nothing huge though.

I agree with @golfcashoahu
