Different teacher recs for different schools?

I was wondering, would it be ok to have different teachers write recs. for different schools? Here are some examples:

UChicago- Chem teacher and Anthro. teacher

Swarthmore- English teacher and Anthro. teacher

Georgetown SFS- Old Global teacher who is my MUN advisor

Obviously, some schools have different requirements (ie. Chicago requires a math/sci rec, G'town only requires 1 rec) but would it be OK to use different teachers for each school to kind of shape your application and give it a focus? Like have different teachers write different recs to stress my interest in anthropology at Chicago and Swat, but stress my interest in IR at G'town SFS? That minute bit of a scientist in me is telling me to limit the number of variables... but the humanist is thinking about how I can present myself in the way I perceive the University would want me presented.

It is of course fine to do so, but from experience, keep track of what you send where... be neat... because when you're mailing like 10+ applications within a week, it gets hectic, good luck with Georgetown!

Absolutely! For students applying to 10+ schools, this is often necessary. I know some of my teachers had limits, because they wanted to put effort into tailoring the individual apps.

One teacher of mine has a limit for ideological reasons -- people apply to too many colleges = lowers acceptance rates = bad.
