^ At least you speak english…which again is a lot for some parts of the state.

There’s that, at least:)

Except, here in chicago, we pronounce milk as ‘melk’
‘Trick or treat’ as ‘treak or treat’
‘Christmas’ as ‘Christmus’

Among other things, lol.

Everyone has their own accent. It’s part of who they are. People from here talk weird, I’m told. We have our own slang. And say thing strange. The most commonly used word is “you’s” as in plural for you all… For example, “What are you’s doing tonight?” Haha, classic. People also say that we ask questions funny. Like, we bring our voices up and get all into it… Haha I totally I talk weird, but it’s cool. It’s how I’ve always been.

write- I’m really sorry to hear about the troubles with your family! keep your head up, college is soon! And since you’re in for summer, it’s even sooner! Check out bed, bath and beyond, target, lowes, boscovs, etc for deals on things you’re going to want to take! I know the usual stuff goes on sale around move in dates, but things like the household items I’m sure had a good black friday discount! You’re also so lucky to have tuition covered…

I’m really luck to have tuition covered! I just went out today, to the mall, before I headed to work. I was just searching for summer clothes they may have had on clearance, and some crazy girl rammed me into a wall, trying to grab the last small. It was like watching my aunt dive for the last bread roll during thanksgiving:/ These. People.Are.Crazy.

Ah, I need so many things! I’ll need to start organizing it into a list, which will never work, because I hate list:)

Yeah, we’re weird here too. We say a few akward phrases, none I can think of off the top of my head. I just know that there is one thing I will miss about chicago.
Pizza. Sorry, but Florida just cannot compete with chicago, when it comes to pizza. I love my chicago style, Sicilian stuffed, and deep dish:)

Brooklyn style all the way

If your givin the opportunity to move cross country to a solid school…what is there to lose? Especially since the cold sucks…worst comes to worst you transfer back to your in state school and get to experience two different college types.

We have dominoes…what else do ya need?

Chick fil a… went to michigan over summer and found out they don’t exist there. Terrifying

Seni0r-- honestly I feel like you’ll get equal independence either at Penn State or UCF. My brother who’s a senior at PSU now tried to convince me to go there, but about half my graduating class does so that was a turn off for me. Either option you choose will be a good decision. PSU has their traditions set and are #1 among corporate recruiters. However, UCF is in the middle of building their traditions. This could be really special to be a part of but it also has some disadvantages because the school isn’t that well known yet. UCF has nationally ranked programs already, but the 34% graduation rate after 4 years is really scary. Both schools have their pros and cons, and Penn State might be attractive to me if I didn’t live in PA. Just make sure you make this decision for YOURSELF. Don’t let others influence you. Your friends, parents, teachers, etc may try to sway you towards a certain school but realize this is YOUR future, not theirs. It is directly affecting you. Make the decision best for yourself and most of all pick the place where you think you can get the most out of your education. Think about which school poses better opportunities. You have months to think it all out so relax :)

And Caitlin that is gross. The thought of deep dish pizza makes my stomach hurt hahaha. NY knows what’s good with pizza

Problem, I need my Taylor Street. Domino’s is like a cracker covered with sauce, compared to the pizza here:)

Ah, AS new york pizza is SO good, too! They’re both very, very similar though. I’ve tried to compare them, because I’ve been going up to new york city, over every summer, since I was seven. It’s odd how similar the city’s are, but new york is so much bigger. If you guys haven’t been to new york, you need to go there. It’s amazing:)

as21608 - that was awesome advice . and yeah that whole “u can’t finish” thing is really starting to get to me… and lately for some reason I keep reading what students have to say on just random sites, and some are just so negative and they’re filling me with doubt… tradition is a big difference, especially between these two. I feel like the general response is, whoa Penn state!! but I don’t know, since I’ve never been all about it, I don’t think I ever will. also, it’s starting to get freezing … and I really don’t want to walk 15 minutes to class in this weather. I’d rather get my fill over winter break… ahhh I don’t know it’s just such a big difference.

and the pizza is alright here, we have some good ones. the thing I’ll miss the most is the iced tea. it’s probably the worst thing to drink, but there is nothing in the world as good as Farmers iced tea. and we have an awesome little sub shop, third base. soooooo yummy. aha

never been to ny… going in may though!! so excited!

Yay for new york!
Wait, question, someone mentioned a chick A…something? What in gods name is that? Lol. I’m really going to miss my pasta Mia, and the dog father! Best. Hotdogs. Ever:)

Did you guys ever hear of that incredibly stupid movie that came out this year, called munger road? That’s filmed right by my house:)

no never heard of it! lol and chick-fil-a haha it’s a chicken placee

Seriously?! I love chicken, how can Illinois not have that?!

Damn town has been depriving me;/

You’re going to love New York. It’s an amazing city, and it’s so fast paced, you get caught up in the sworn.

Oh. My. GOD. Is such a thing even possible?

BRB rushing spicy chicken sandwhich with large ice tea to Illinois

Chick Fil A is the most amazing place EVER! It’s real chicken so it’s not like the fake chicken nuggets you get from McDonalds. They have real lemonade, with the tang from the lemons and everything, and delicious sweet tea. The have salads, sandwiches, nuggets, and strips. The also have waffle fries (yummm!), cole slaw, parfaits and other things like that. They have BBQ sauce, Chick Fil A sauce and. my favorite, Polynessian (it’s kinda sweet). Also, in my personal opinion, they have the BEST “fast food” ice cream! Just from typing this I’ve gotten so hungry, brb going to Chick Fil A (lucky me, I have one less than 5 minutes from my house!) :D

it’s a lil higher priced than McDonald’s but it’s worth EVERY PENNY! Sad thing is, it’s closed on Sunday’s because the owner was a Pastor? (i think) and believes Sunday is reserved for family time. BTW Sunday will be the one day of the week you’ll crave it the most and then your feelings will be crushed when you realize its not open lol.

This cannot be happening. How could Illinois not have this?! Didn’t they get my memo?! I’m a meataterian! This is such a cruel world. I will have to try some in Florida, once I’m done there:)

Fayth, that sounds SO GOOD. Except for the salad part;) Never, ever will anyone catch me eating a salad. I’m not that ‘I’d like a salad with low fat dressing’ kind of girl. The places we have around here are your typically places: Subway, mcdonalds (Yuck) Banermens (Good!) Nest cafe, the dog father, Taylor street, nickodino’s…it goes on and on. Of course, can’t forget Chipotle.
