difficulty of transferring

I found out today i was admitted into maryland for the fall semester, but im definitely having my reservations about transferring. I would be leaving UConn after 2 years, with plans for a double major in economics and political science, a great schedule and good housing.
For anyone that knows about transferring, will any of this be possible at Maryland? I'd be entering in the fall as a junior (5th semester), but unless I can graduate in 2 years I don't think I'd go. If I do transfer, I'm just curious if I could still could get decent housing, a good schedule and a plan to graduate on time. Any insight?

from your post, it sounds like u already made your decision. why do you want to leave UCONN anyway? im sure u can double in MD too, but u have to go through getting to know the campus, new people, etc. if you already have it good in UCONN, why do you want to transfer?

well if it sounds like i know my decision already, id love to know what it is. I'm completely torn here, and honestly have no idea what i want to do.

I'd be leaving UConn for various reasons, but again, like i said, very torn right now.

...wow. ^.

housing is really difficult for transfers to get here at UMD. you pretty much have to live off-campus. start looking NOW if you're going to do that because a lot of things are filling up quickly. living in CP is expensive (i don't know how it compares to near uconn). as far as classes, they might give transfer students some leniency about open seats, but everyone at your credit level has already registered so i'm not sure how that would work for you.

sorry that wasn't really very helpful, good luck with your decison :)

nah it was helpful, thanks a lot

heh, im thinking about transfering to umd from uconn too. what was your gpa, if youre still around?....

does anyone know whether or not it hurts to have a withdrawel from a class when trying to transfer to umd? thanks.
