Difficulty of World History

i really messed up that DBQ. and now that i think about it, it was really easy. GAHHH. what can you do.

o.O I was really worried about the dbqs... so I made 2 groupings, and within each, made 2 more groupings.. In the end, I worte a dbp/compare and contrast/change over time all in one lol.. I was really proud of it ^^

Too bad it sucked the time out of my next 2 essays >.< (wrote the COT in 25-30 minutes or so and the compare/contrast in around 15-20 minutes... and that's including planning)

I feel bad for the people who read my 3rd essay... They're not gonna be decipher it XD (everyone has bad handwritng, don't worry about it ^^)

I chose Rome for #2. Christianity, boom done.

yup. today, my mind went blank and i lost my bsing skill. I couldn't expand on a small amount of facts like I usually do.

India #2. Hinduism/caste system done.

I suggest that pimp and waffle should edit their posts. Don't want the thread deleted.

If I told a lie on the CoT...
what should I expect on it?

I made this post in another thread but i'm really worried... :(

IN general, how many "changes" and "continuities" is acceptable?
also, if you have a wrong "continuity" how much points do you think would be taken off?
And, if this wrong "continuity" was a part of my thesis, then no point?

I thought the MC was really easy, I only had to go back to like 9-10. I have been getting 65-70% right in Barrons, so I expect at least half right. The first essay was obscure, but I think i tied in all of the documents effectively. For the second one, I really didn't have a lot of ideas so I B'sed the second option. The third was cake. I hope i got at least a 4, possibly 5.

m/c: GAAAH I RAN OUT OF TIME!!! stupid proctors
dbq: ROCKED!!! ROOOOOOCKED!
cot: OMFG 1000000000X ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cc: ok...... buuuuuut i sorta didnt get it....

Lucidity "Umm... do you really need a conclusion? I think on COT, I didn't have a conclusion. I'm sure they'd want one, but you can't get points taken off for that, can you?"
Sorry I went out 4 Hibachi........
Any way go to the collegeboard.com website and look at the essay rubric. They tell you how they grade the essays. It's pretty vague tho.

mc was easy, probably 62 raw. pictures were weird, i agree. i laughed at the russian picture. dbq was obscure, i hope i just get a 3 on it by just following format. other essays were easy, i just hope i get past the rigid rubric they use to grade them. probably 7 on both contrast and COT. probably 5, i would be disappointed with a 4.

by the way, what is the grading scale. kaplan uses a 0-170 scale, but are some of you saying the 2002 released used a 78-120 for 5's?? is this accurate.

The DBQ was just Odd. It had WAY to many documents to read, ended up sucking alot of my time. It was hard to group the first document. I finished, but quality of my essays were off because of the time. The 2nd question was nice, would of been a freebie if i had alot of time.(I chose Rome) Third was..... so so. would have been beter if there was more time. The MC I finished pretty quick. Had enough time to check my test. I couldn't bring myself to skip any question, its ALOT easier said than done in my case. The 3 guesses i made were based on logic, not random. And that sheep question............ ***?!?!?!

man i just got home from testing. we had some issues. first the bus dropped us off and we had no idea where to go. so we spent about 20 mins looking for the room. then when we got there there were no proctors. so once they finally found the proctors and gave us our test booklets, it was 1:10, and the test has to start between 12 and 1. so they had to call the college board and ask if it was ok to take the test, which took like an hour. then everyone was really dumb and didnt know how to fill out the student response stuff. it probably took us about an hour and half to get through that. then FINALLY we took the test.

i thought the test wasnt really hard, and i probably could have gotten a 5 if i hadnt misgrided my multiple choice. i had to erase like 20 or 30 and i only had time to regrid about 10 or 15 so i left way too many blank....and i knew all the answers. sucked.

the dbq went pretty good, i used all the documents. i might have gotten into the extended core if i didnt mess up on pov.

cot went ok. kind of bleh. i might get like a 5 or 6?

comp sucked. had to make some stuff up. i might get like a 4?

overall the essays pretty much sucked. i thought the 2005 ones were a lot easier. we wrote our first dbq on monday and our first comp on tuesday and then today was my first cot.

so for my score i am expecting maybe a 3 worst case scenario, a 4 best case scenario. maybe a 5 if i have a really nice essay reader. if only i had like 30 more seconds to grid in those answers...gahhh.

I know what you mean. I almost misgrided it. I usually always have to regrid tests with fill in bubbles, esp. scantrons.

yeah and those little bubbles were really close together. i couldnt really see it. suckedddd. i thought about just filling them in randomly but i decided that if i got most of the ones i marked right thats still like 40 or 45 points.... so i left them blank.

oh well.

hopefully i will have better luck with us history next year.

are you a sophomore?

Yep, i'm a sophmore.

hmm i thought the bubbling wasnt bad its just the time.... grr i hated spending 3 minutes on that one question...

The sheep question made me furious.

i didnt spend very long on any one question, but when i got to the end of the test but only #69 on my answer sheet.....it took me a while to figure out where i went wrong. and then to erase everything, and grid it back in. then the time went out ahhh. i hate thinking about it....
